Sue Molyneaux, Toronto based artist.

A versatile and unique artist I found through Deviant Art.
Sue accepts commissions for original paintings and also
sells her paintings as quality prints of the original piece.
She explains that she does this in order to make them
affordable to women who can rarely afford art in it’s
original media.

Please visit her site to read her excellent views on this
subject! Her passion for women and her need to help
them in this manner makes Sue our perfect first
choice for a feature.

Not to mention her work is a must see and purchase!

You must visit her at one of the sites below!

Sue’s Cafe press store is filled with sassy, fun pieces
for purchase. I want several for Christmas!

From Sue :

“About the Artist

My name is Sue Molyneaux, I am a lesbian artist in Toronto.
The contemporary digital art that you see on these pages promotes
a cultural view of interpreting women, familiar and unfamiliar within
the lesbian context.

For decades I used acrylics, graphite and other traditional media,
and only in the last 10 years or so have I gone digital. And it’s
only since 2006 have I found my current style of painting.
But one thing has been consistent; I paint what I love.
So it’s women, mostly.

For me, it’s about community, culture, imagery, herstory;
it’s about being a lesbian, and how that encompasses every
part of my life.

Being a lesbian affects everything, EVERYTHING, about me.
It’s who I am, right down to the marrow. I paint women because
I love women. I paint dogs and cats because as a lesbian I know
they are often the most supportive, loving family members that
some lesbians will ever have! I create lesbian t-shirts because
I refuse to be silent about being a lesbian. What am I passionate
about? I’m passionate about living a lesbian life, and all the good
and bad that it entails in our culture.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions
or comments you have.

Where are they?

This blog will attempt to find, encourage and support
fellow Lesbian Visual Artists of all mediums.

In searching for a free community on line for
fine artists and hobbyists alike that just happen
to be lesbian friendly, I had been very disappointed.

Joining communities which consist of mainly straight
members results in disappointment. This blog strives to
reach those who have been hurt on line by narrow minded
people. It will encourage others to trust once more.

Searches for “lesbian artists” resulted in few results.
I will continue my search and post those results
here for you to enjoy. Perhaps, with time, more
Lesbian Artists will feel free enough to be
Out and Proud.

The Lesbian Way Art Blog will attempt to form a community
of like minded women who just happen to be Lesbian.
A place to discuss our work and not worry that referring
to our partner/spouse will upset someone.

My goal is to form this community which will include
an art gallery on line, along with a private mailing list
for members only.

If you are a Lesbian Visual Artist and would like to
submit your work and link to be added here
please send me an email or comment with your
link attached. I’ll write you back ASAP.
